In Neuröthenbach, two fake police officers gained access to a senior citizen's apartment.

The police are now looking for more victims.

Nuremberg - On Tuesday afternoon (November 16), strangers posed as police officers to a senior citizen in Neuröthenbach.

This is how they sneaked access to their apartment, as the police headquarters in Middle Franconia * announced.

At around 5.15 p.m. after shopping, the woman came back to her apartment in an apartment building on Zwernberger Weg in Nuremberg *.

There they spoke to two men who claimed they had to go to the house urgently.

They pretended to be detectives.

As proof, they held out a metal badge in the shape of a star and a beige-colored paper ID to the senior citizen.

Nuremberg: Fraudsters tell a hair-raising story

They said they had "caught" a man who had a slip of paper with the old lady's name on him.

In addition, stolen property had been secured from the “prisoner”.

Now it must be checked whether the objects in question are possibly missing in the woman's apartment.

The elderly woman gave entry to the fake officers, who immediately began to search drawers and cupboards.

They left the apartment some time later - it is not yet known that anything had been stolen.

The permanent detective service secured the traces in the apartment.

A search for the two fraudsters was unsuccessful.

Nuremberg: This is what the suspects looked like

Both men are said to be around 45 years old and 1.75 meters tall.

They have dark hair and wore dark jackets - possibly made of leather.

Presumably they are of German origin.

Nuremberg: Please report witnesses or injured parties to the police

The Nuremberg police is now asking for information.

Who noticed people between 5.15 p.m. and 5.45 p.m. who were waiting in front of a house on Zwernberger Weg or who were in the immediate vicinity?

Please call us at (0911) 21 12 33 33.

In addition, it is possible that the two wanted people have already used the trick mentioned above.

In this case, the police asks the injured party to report - whether something has been stolen or not is irrelevant.
