The Tölz fire brigade had to move to the former Alpamare on Wednesday evening for an operation: there was smoke development there.

It was the third mission within 24 hours.

Bad Tölz - I noticed the development of smoke above the caretaker's fun pool, which had been vacant for several years.

At around 6 p.m. he alerted the rescue workers.

Smoke over the Alpamare: Finding the cause is difficult

The Tölzer fire brigade was on site with 24 men and four vehicles.

"The search for the cause turned out to be difficult because of the size of the property," said the fire protection officers.

According to the police, it finally turned out that the heavy smoke had developed due to a technical defect in the building's heating system.

An oil hose in the heating system had burst, causing oil to drip onto a hot compressor.

The Alpamare and the residential building connected to it via a corridor were smoky in this way.

The compressor was disconnected from the power.

The smoke was removed from the building with two electric fans.

There was no property damage and fortunately no people were injured.

The work for the volunteer fire brigade ended after about an hour and a half.

Incidentally, it was the third time that the volunteers were deployed within 24 hours.

In the morning they had left for the serious traffic accident near Roßwies.

The previous evening at around 11 p.m., residents in a residential complex on Buchener Strasse had alerted the rescue control center because of a strong gas smell.

A command vehicle and three fire engines were deployed.

The search for the cause of the gas smell began on site.

Respiratory protection wearers had previously carried out measurements to rule out the risk of explosion.

A bucket of epoxy resin that came from a construction project was finally identified as the source of the odor.

This was brought outside, then the building was extensively ventilated with two electric fans via the underground car park and the stairwell.

After an hour, the 25 workers were able to leave the site again.
