Protect yourselves! ”He advises the digitally connected delegate.

Despite the pandemic, the SJR management looks back on an extensive program in its report.

Thanks to numerous hygiene concepts, some events could take place, including the active summer, the “election party”, the pogrom commemoration and the floki flea market.

Outlook for 2022

Now it's time to look ahead: because next year the SJR will celebrate its 75th anniversary.

It will probably start after the carnival holidays with a big celebration in the Parktheater as a prelude to a whole series of events that will also include new formats.

“Restart of youth work” - this is the motto of the Bavarian Youth Ring.

During the pandemic, youth work suffered despite all the successful efforts towards digital formats.

What is hidden behind the announced restart and how the SJR participates in it will soon become apparent at the first dates set for it.

A major project that will keep the SJR busy for a few years, according to Managing Director Alexander Haag, is “Smart City, a giant project of the city”.

The youth work will be integrated in order to place media educational offers in schools and other places "where the young people spend a lot of time".

Youth Promotion Prize

Rotary member Simon Schnetzer introduces the Rotary Club's youth advancement award, which offers "help for great projects and young engagement".

Once a quarter, € 1,000 is given to a project by young people.

"Participation is uncomplicated and as barrier-free as possible," says Schnetzer.

Two projects have already been awarded the sponsorship award: the student musical, which is created at the Carl-von Linde-Gymnasium, and the “DemokratieWerkStadt” with its youth policy podcast “Abgefahren & nachgefragt”.

This is available to those interested in the digital youth center 8743x.de.

No advertising for firearms

As usual, the Social Christmas Market will take place at the end of the year (Saturday, November 27th at the Forum): At the time of the General Assembly, it was not yet known whether additional restrictions would be necessary.

One thing is clear, however: no advertising for firearms will be permitted at such SJR events in the future.

The delegates decided on Monday.
