But now the numerous fans of the celebrity chef are threatened with a shock: If the results of the investigation by the tax investigators are confirmed, a prison sentence might even be considered.
Around ten years ago, the Federal Court of Justice decided that tax evasion should in principle be punished with imprisonment when it comes to more than one million euros.

Alfons Schuhbeck: Will he have to go to court in Munich soon?
The Munich district court must now decide whether and when the trial will take place.
If so, then insiders do not expect negotiations to start until next spring.
Schuhbeck himself could not be reached for a statement.
His two lawyers Sascha König and Markus Gotzens also did not comment on the ongoing proceedings.
It is not the first time that Schuhbeck has had trouble with the tax office.
In 1994 he was convicted of tax evasion and breach of trust.

And the 72-year-old also recently struggled with financial problems.
In July Schuhbeck had filed for bankruptcy for his upscale restaurants on Platzl and for his party service.
However, a group of investors saved a large part of the companies - and with them around three quarters of the total of 120 jobs.
The party service will be retained, as will the spice trade and the South Tyrolean parlors
, as insolvency administrator Max Liebig recently explained.
Schuhbeck himself should continue to play an important role in the company.
The teatro show in the Spiegelzelt in Riem is not affected by any of this - it is run by a separate company.
