The Iranian Foreign Ministry condemned the statement issued by the working group consisting of the United States, the European Troika and the Gulf Cooperation Council, describing it as "fabricated, showy and lacking legitimacy."
"The meeting and the statement issued by the so-called working group composed of the United States, the European Troika and the Gulf Cooperation Council countries are fabricated and showy and lacks legitimacy to the point that it does not even deserve a response," the Iranian IRNA news agency quoted Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh as saying in a press statement today.
Khatibzadeh indicated that the United States is "striving once again to create a crisis and heat the atmosphere against Iran," recalling that Washington is the party that violated international resolution 2231 and exited from the nuclear agreement, and it is responsible for the current situation. The internal affairs of various countries and the main seller of arms and materiel to various regions of the world.
Yesterday, Iran's ambassador and permanent representative to the United Nations, Majid Takht Ravanchi, reiterated its commitment to the nuclear agreement signed with the "Five Plus One" group, pointing out that it was the United States that reneged on its commitments.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman added, "Countries that must bear responsibility for their adventures and aggressions in the region, including the seven-year-old aggression against Yemen, cannot put forward baseless accusations against others and evade responsibility for these crimes and distort the minds of public opinion."
The Saudi regime, with the support of the United States, has launched an aggression against the Yemeni people since March 2015, leaving tens of thousands of victims and massive destruction of infrastructure.
