The Court of Auditors casts a shadow over the results of security policy in France.
In her latest note on
"the structural issues"
of the country dedicated to the national police, she reveals that despite
"significant additional resources, as evidenced by the 21% increase in the wage bill in ten years and the help of new actors (municipal police, reservists, private security), (…) the results that it displays, in terms of presence on the ground or elucidation of the facts of delinquency have not experienced significant improvement, or even are deteriorating ”
.
In particular, the clearance rate (ie the ability to identify offenders) shows worrying signs of weakness.
The homicide rate fell from 70.3% in 2016 or 2018 to only 62.6% last year.
