In 1972 Marianne März was the first and at the time the only local councilor in Wörth (Hörlkofener List / CSU).

Hörlkofen - She has held many honorary positions, mastered life with all its ups and downs as an independent and self-confident woman.

Now the 91-year-old, who took an active part in life until shortly before her death, has started her last trip.

The elderly lady was proud of her 15 km / h electric car, with which she was regularly traveling at a leisurely pace until a year ago.

Marianne März was a member of the local council for twelve years. The Erdinger district council also appointed her as a lay judge at the Regional Court of Munich II. She worked there as an honorary judge for 14 years and has experienced situations that she liked to compare with scenes from the Royal Bavarian District Court. March also represented her profession for 20 years as a deputy local farmer and was chairwoman of the women's group in the association of agricultural college graduates in the Erding district for eight years.

Marianne März was born as the only child of the innkeepers Kaspar and Maria Ismaier, who ran the "Klösterl", and soon grew into the catering business. “Her generosity and hospitality were literally inherited from her in the cradle,” said community officer Anton Huber in his funeral speech at the Hörlkofener cemetery and recalled the life stages of the deceased.

Her childhood was overshadowed by National Socialism. She became seriously ill with diphtheria at the age of 13 and survived only thanks to the help of a military doctor who had access to penicillin. After the war, as a teenager, she campaigned for school meals for children who had little to eat. In 1948 the family moved to the Oberkellerhof in Hörlkofen because their father Kaspar Ismaier had taken over the property from his brother, whose health was too limited.

In Hörlkofen, Marianne März was involved in the theater association. There were legendary performances in the hall of the Hauptbahnhof restaurant. After the death of her mother Maria at the end of 1962, the young woman took over the farm and ran it on her own for the next few years. At the age of 37 she married widower Hans März from Obertrubach in Franconian Switzerland and found a husband with him who would help her with the farm work and advise her on all decisions. Through the marriage she became the mother of three sons whom her husband brought into the marriage and whom she lovingly cared for. She also looked after her father Kaspar, who died in 1976.

In 1985 she handed over the farm and now had more time to cultivate her diverse contacts, for example at meetings of the local farmers or at senior days in the parish. She especially enjoyed taking time for her six grandchildren, they were her pride and joy. Nine great-grandchildren were added later. A serious loss for her and the whole family was the sudden accidental death of her eldest granddaughter Nicki 20 years ago. The following year her husband Hans died after 35 years of marriage together.

Marianne März was interested and committed in many ways.

Until recently, extensive reading of the local newspaper was an essential part of her day-to-day planning.

Independence was important to her throughout her life and she preserved it well into old age.

However, the over 90-year-old made pneumonia difficult.

After several stays in hospital, the seniors got a place in an Erdinger nursing home.

She quickly made a name for herself there.

“Her humble but direct manner made her very popular with the care team.

At the gate it was also noticeable that she always had a lot of visitors, ”reported Huber in his speech.

Finally her health deteriorated and she fell asleep peacefully with the sacraments of the Holy Death.
