According to Hsu Lau Shan's website, it was founded by Hsu Ciyu in the early 1960s and named the shop under his father's name. It was originally a cart stall selling tortoise and herbal tea in Yuen Long.
Later, Xu Lau Shan's first store was settled in Yuen Long Pao Zhan Fang. In 1980, he began to sell dessert snacks such as coconut milk, sugar buns, and carrot cake. In 1992, he created the famous "Mango Sago Lao" and gradually introduced cups. Special drinks have become a trend among young people in Hong Kong.
Xu Liushan once had 260 branches in 2016, all over China, Malaysia, and even out of Asia, and can be tasted in Britain, France and other places.
Xu Liushan changed hands to a Malaysian company in 2008, and was acquired by mainland company Huangtian International in 2015. At one time, it was reported that he intended to go public, but then no progress was made.
The court has issued a winding-up order

All of Xu Laushan's Hong Kong branches have closed. Its official website shows that there are branches in the Mainland, Canada, the Philippines, and South Korea.
