The development of the former Max Planck site above Von-der-Tann-Strasse in Erling should start in the spring of next year.

The project-related development plan is legally binding.

On Tuesday, the second building application for a single-family house on the street was announced.

The excavators will soon be moving up above this property as well.

Erling

- The first construction phase is also to be tackled soon above Von-der-Tann-Straße at the height of Wieningen Castle.

This is confirmed by Ferdinand von Transehe-Roseneck, one of three shareholders in Wieninger Schloss GmbH, which acquired the 30,000 square meter site from project developer Walter Essler at the end of last year.

The new owners want to stick to the plans that Essler's office in Starnberg had developed.

Essentially, this is the preservation of the Wieningen Palace, but also the construction of an apartment house with 21 residential units for the next generation of scientists at the Max Planck Institute in Seewiesen.

In addition, an urban development contract stipulates the creation of affordable housing.

Six apartments are planned.

As reported, a total of 38 residential units in multi-family and single-family houses were planned on the site. How many apartments will ultimately be built in Wieningen Castle, “we don't yet know,” says Ferdinand von Transehe-Roseneck. The future of the former research bunker, in which the biological clock of humans and animals was researched, is also not yet certain. “The future owners have to decide that.” The bunker is located on one of the lots behind the Wieningen Palace, which is to be built on with a single-family house. The building applications for this area are not yet ready.

The situation is different for the area between Herrschinger Straße and Wieninger Schloss. The multi-family houses are to be built there. According to the architect Walter Waldrauch from the Starnberg planning office Raumstation, the building applications can soon be submitted, so that a start of construction in April, as the new owners wish, appears realistic.

The Wieninger Palace was built in 1862 by Felix Christian Wieninger and named after him.

The villa was never a castle, but it appears that way on the hill.

The Max Planck Society was represented on the site from 1959 to 2014.

From 2017 to 2020 it belonged to the project developer Walter Essler from Starnberg, the new investors come from Straubing and Graefelfing.

Essler had the idea of making the area an "integral part" of Erling.

So it should be publicly available.

A path through the forest is intended to close the gap in the supra-regional network of foot and cycle paths.

The new owners are sticking to these plans, says Ferdinand von Transehe-Roseneck.
