The recognition was delivered a few days after the Cuban regime chaired by Miguel Díaz-Canel repressed the Civic March for Change, a protest by the people in favor of freedom organized by the Archipelago platform, which tried to replicate the historic peaceful demonstrations of 11 of July.

"This song is dedicated to all political prisoners in Cuba," El Funky said before performing it.

In particular, El Funky referred to the leader of the San Isidro Movement (MSI), Luis Manuel Otero Alcántara;

and Maykel Castillo El Osorbo, who is another of the song's authors.

Dressed completely in white, the artists invited the public to light up the darkness with their cell phones and a Cuban flag was seen among the spectators.

The song was preceded by an introduction by Gloria Estefan, who referred to

as "a hymn."

"This song is an example of the power that music has to mobilize, inspire and unite us under the promise of a better day, to continue sowing that hope," he said.

The 22nd edition of the Latin Grammy was held this Thursday at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in the city of the game.

This is the first face-to-face edition of the great party of the Latin Recording Academy since the pandemic began.
