Damascus-SANA
The dreamy mystical atmosphere, which was added by the voice of the singer Abeer Al-Batal with the orchestra, took over the concert in the courtyard of Khan Asaad Pasha, in the midst of a large audience that interacted with the sound and the melody.
And the hero of the evening began with Muwashhi, “Ya sleepy eyelids” and “The Al-Ahaif Al-Mu’jab” composed by Omar Al-Batsh and “Hat Iqqinhaa Min Yadik” composed by Yahya Al-Saudi, in addition to a role from the Maqam Nawa after “Ya Jarih Al-Gharam” composed by Zakaria Ahmed.
The old hero singer presented “Wila Min Sehr Al-Ayoun” and the “Kitir Dalalak” Taqtaqa from Maqam Al-Bayat, composed by Bakri Kurdi, and the song “Ya Helou Ya Maslini” composed by Abd al-Rahim al-Masloub.
And from Sufi singing, the hero performed “My Heart Is Empty” from the poems of Samnoun al-Muhib, and “We drank on the remembrance of the beloved Madamah” from the poems of Ibn al-Farid.
In a statement to SANA, Al-Batal explained that she is committed to authentic music, mystic singing and muwashshah, because it expresses authenticity and committed art, and that it is her duty to preserve this authentic heritage and present it to future generations to introduce them to the depth and heritage of our oriental music, pointing to her deep sadness over the absence of the chant of Tarab, Sabah Fakhri, one of the giants of contemporary singing.
It is noteworthy that Abeer Al-Batal is a singer of Arabic classical oriental music who graduated from the Higher Institute in 2016. She sings all kinds of classical and traditional music from Syria. She also sang with many choirs and orchestras in Syrian and Lebanese festivals and appeared as a lead singer in many TV series.
