Four candidates want to throw their hats in the ring at the state party conference of the AfD * in Frankfurt.
The Hessian AfD * is facing a trend-setting board election.
But at the state party conference next Saturday (November 20th) in Frankfurt, not only will the new party leadership be voted on.
According to the present agenda, it should also be decided whether the Hessian AfD will be led by a dual leadership as before - or just by a chairman.
Head of the AfD in Hesse challenged by "wing" supporters and opponents of the Corona measures
The incumbent board spokesmen (that's what the party leaders call themselves in Hesse) are the parliamentary group leader Robert Lambrou and Klaus Herrmann.
Both politicians were barely confirmed in office two years ago.
Lambrou received 58.7 percent of the votes cast at the time.
Herrmann, Lambrous Vice in the state parliament in Wiesbaden, got just 50.1 percent and almost failed.
According to a party spokesman, in addition to the incumbent dual leadership with Lambrou and Herrmann, members of the state parliament, Volker Richter and Andreas Lichert, are running for election.
Richter, who also operates as deputy head of the parliamentary group, is considered a critic of the state Corona * measures.
The MP Lichert was considered a supporter of the "wing" around right wing Björn Höcke *.
AfD in Hessen: A woman will probably not be the head of the AfD
The "wing", which has now formally dissolved, is being monitored by the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution using intelligence services.
One of his central actors in the network was the Thuringian AfD country chief Björn Höcke.
The Hessian state spokesman (s) for the AfD are elected for two years.
The AfD in Hesse suffered a fall in the federal election to 8.8 percent - 3.1 percent less than four years earlier.
Apparently, a woman will not apply for the head of the AfD in Hessen, so it could remain that the Hessen AfD can only choose between Lambrou, Herrmann, Richter and Lichert.
