If attacks on US agents occur anywhere in the world, the attackers may be extradited and prosecuted on US soil.

This new law has been established after in 2011 two special agents of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement Service (ICE) were attacked with gunshots in Mexico, resulting in the death of one of them.

Those responsible were extradited to the United States for prosecution, but their convictions were overturned because the law only covered events on US soil.
