President Biden said he did not witness Kyle Rittenhouse's trial, but he supports the verdict and the court system.

The president made these comments when he returned to the White House after a visit of more than five hours to the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, where he underwent a routine physical examination and a colonoscopy.

"I just found out just now," Biden said when asked about Rittenhouse's plea of not guilty on all counts.

"I didn't see the trial."

When asked if he maintained comments made in the past equating Rittenhouse with a white supremacist, Biden did not respond directly.

"Look, I support what the jury has concluded," he said.

The president was also asked about his physical condition and said it was "good."

"They are going to release all the details. I feel great. Nothing has changed, we are in good shape and I am looking forward to my 58th birthday," he joked.

Biden turns 79 this Saturday.

After several days of deliberation, the jury in the Kyle Rittenhouse case found him not guilty of all charges on Friday.

The charges - which included first-degree murder, first-degree manslaughter and attempted first-degree murder - stem from riots that erupted last year in the wake of the Kenosha police shooting of Jacob Blake, a 29-year-old black man.

Amid the riots and revolt in Kenosha, Rittenhouse, 17 at the time, took up an AR-15-style rifle and joined a group of armed people in the city on August 25, 2020.

Rittenhouse fatally shot Joseph Rosenbaum - who was chasing the teenager and threw a plastic bag at him - and then attempted to flee the area.

A crowd of people chased the teenager, and Rittenhouse shot a stranger who tried to kick him;

he fatally shot Anthony Huber, who had hit him with a skateboard, and wounded Gaige Grosskreutz, who was armed with a pistol.
