The infection case announced by the Centre for Health Protection yesterday was a 31-year-old female domestic helper who arrived in Hong Kong from the Philippines on flight 5J272 on October 23. She tested negative at the Hong Kong Airport and was quarantined at the Penny's Bay Quarantine Center for 21 days. Both tests were negative. She returned to her employer’s residence in Huiwen Building, 50-52 Village Road, Happy Valley after completing the compulsory quarantine on November 13.
She was tested again on November 18, and the test results of the samples collected at the community testing center were initially positive, but the Ct value was greater than 30, which means that the virus was low, and it was confirmed to have the L452R mutant virus strain, while N501Y and E484K were negative.
The patient has no symptoms and was vaccinated with a dose of Johnson & Johnson vaccine in the Philippines on July 23. After she was admitted to the hospital, the result of one of the tests was indeterminate and the antibody was positive.
