The allegations have been in the air for a long time: In the Sauerlach town hall, it is said that the purchase of air purification devices for the classrooms is being delayed.

Sauerlach

- Both Sauerlach parents and parts of the CSU parliamentary group accuse Mayor Barbara Bogner (UBV) of unnecessarily procrastinating the purchase of corona prevention devices.

The topic boiled up again in the local council meeting.

For example, Nicole Wanke, member of the parents' council of the Friedrich-von-Aychsteter elementary school, accused the town hall chief of not having reacted quickly enough in the past year to organize the procurement of filter devices: "Did we miss something last autumn?" Bogner countered accusation by pointing out that at that time no corresponding budget was available.

So it wasn't possible.

There has been a mess with parents before

There had already been a squabble with parts of the parents in September: some mothers brought out heavy artillery because they believed they were too little determined in the town hall when it came to the purchase of air purification devices (we reported).

Specifically, Mayor Bogner was accused at the time of being “politically responsible that there were no air filters in the classrooms at the start of school”.

"Not only did you not advocate it, on the contrary," it says in an email.

You tried to keep the subject off the agenda.

And: "It can be assumed that not everything will continue to be done to speed up the procurement of the mobile air filter devices."

Filters are not a panacea

It is well known that Barbara Bogner is not an ardent advocate of air purification devices.

"Ventilation and compulsory masks are not a substitute for these devices," she added in July.

And: “Do we want devices in classrooms that can be fully ventilated?

Then we create them and they end up in the basement after a year, ”she argued.

Your objections were no coincidence: after all, the community has to bear 50 percent of the costs for acquisition and maintenance.

Mayor Bogner therefore warned some time ago: “We basically have no budget.” But if the local council decides to buy it, “we have to pay for it, of course”.

Is something being carried off here?

CSU man Roman Richter recently reacted annoyed: “The kidnapping seems to be deliberate”, especially since only problems “but no solutions” are discussed. His party friend Markus Hoffmann sees it similarly. He told Münchner Merkur: “The local council decided on July 20, 2021 that the procurement of air filter devices should be prepared and funding options clarified.” On August 31, it was decided to purchase devices for schools, kindergartens and the fire brigade . "The fact that the topic only came back on the agenda ten weeks later was justified by the fact that all the rooms had to be measured first," says Hoffmann with astonishment. The resolution of July already includes the order for this preparatory work - "which was probably only carried out after the meeting in August".Hoffmann also finds "the handling of the topic of subsidies astonishing": Almost four months after the topic was first discussed, there is still no clarity regarding the subsidy options. “The reference to funding for devices in day-care centers that came from me in August has not been included. It should go without saying that the options should be examined in detail, "since the costs raised the most concerns."that the possibilities are examined in detail, "since the costs were the most common cause of concern."that the possibilities are examined in detail, "since the costs were the most common cause of concern."

Not alone with skepticism

Nevertheless: Mayor Bogner is by no means alone with her reservations about the filters in the committee.

In a special meeting at the end of August, the Sauerlach municipal council decided to purchase air purification devices, but with just ten to seven votes.
