One thing is clear, however: when it comes to expanding broadband to high-speed Internet, things seem to be making headway in Vaterstetten.
Now there was a citizens' meeting - because of Corona digitally on the Internet.
Around 50 spectators had dialed in according to the counter.
The goal is a nationwide fiber optic expansion in the entire municipality.
Avacomm is responsible for the northern part of the municipality.
The focus is on around 975 addresses in Weißenfeld, Parsdorf, Neufarn, Purfing and Hergolding.
The expansion is already underway and is expected to be completed by the end of 2022.
In most cases, the connection is free of charge, as the Ledermann engineering office showed.
According to this, however, a requirement is either to be a customer of Avacomm or to order one of the fiber optic Internet tariffs.

Second area: white spots. I am primarily concerned with a federal funding guideline. It should include peripheral areas in the villages as well as around 1000 addresses in Vaterstetten and Baldham, especially along defined axes. A model: the municipality builds the network itself and leases it to a network operator. The municipality retains ownership of the network. The network is actually operated by the selected network operator, who is responsible for maintenance and servicing.
The award for operation and planning by the municipal council could take place at the end of January 2022.
Construction is expected to start in autumn 2022.
At the event it was explicitly pointed out that the implementation of a house connection during the expansion would be free of charge as part of the funding process.
In addition, the establishment of the house connection is independent of the network operator.
For all connections that would be realized after the completion of the expansion within the framework of the funding program, the costs would have to be borne by oneself.

And then there is the expansion within the framework of the gray spots funding, which includes around 5,000 addresses in the municipality.
Construction could start here in mid-2023.
