Will there still be something going on in Gmund with the hybrid municipal council meetings?
After the model was rejected in the summer, the mayor makes a new attempt.
Gmund
- Last week, the municipality of Bad Wiessee proved that meetings can work in a hybrid form.
She practiced the model for the first time in view of the high number of infections - the connection of the municipal councils from the “home office” ran without any technical problems.
The mayor of Gmund, Alfons Besel (FWG), also believes that meetings in which the municipal councils can participate in person as well as online are practicable and currently appropriate.
However, the municipal council would first have to make a corresponding decision in principle.
Besel put the topic on the agenda for the meeting on Tuesday 23 November - not for the first time.
Hybrid meetings: the necessary majority was missed in the summer
In the summer, the Gmund municipal council had already discussed the possibility of allowing hybrid meetings in an emergency.
In an emotional meeting, including the voting gap, the two-thirds majority required to change the rules of procedure was ultimately missed.
Even then, Besel regretted this decision.
In his view, the worsening corona situation has now resulted in a new situation.
"The high number of cases and the incredibly high incidence in the district make it possible to take up the issue again and put it to the vote," explains Besel when our newspaper asked.
Besel is confident that the local council will agree this time
The pandemic, says the mayor, is also a challenge in terms of municipal council meetings.
One could not do without the consultations entirely.
There are many ongoing projects in Gmund.
“Things that should be decided,” explains the mayor.
In order to remain able to work despite the pandemic, he now hopes to be able to convince his local council colleagues to also use hybrid meetings.
In view of the "dramatic development", said Besel, he was confident that there will be a majority for the hybrid sessions this time.
The 3G plus rule applies to participation in meetings on Tuesday
The deliberations begin at 7 p.m. in the Neureuthersaal.
The 3G plus rule applies to all participants.
In addition to the decision on the hybrid meetings, a fundamental decision on senior-friendly living in the community of Gmund is also on the agenda.
