Baghdad - Sana
The Joint Iraqi Operations Command denied extending the date for the withdrawal of US forces from Iraq, which is set on the 31st of next December.
The Iraqi News Agency quoted the spokesman for the joint operations, Major General Tahsin al-Khafaji, as saying today, "The talk about extending the date for the withdrawal of US forces is inaccurate and incorrect," stressing that the date for the exit of combat forces on the 31st of next December is fixed and there is no change in it.
Major General Al-Khafaji added, "The relationship between the two parties after the departure of the combat forces will be a consultative relationship in the fields of training, armament, intelligence and security information against the terrorist organization ISIS."
The international coalition had announced earlier that its role in Iraq would not change in conjunction with the imminent withdrawal of combat forces.
In turn, the Coordinating Committee of the Iraqi resistance factions confirmed their readiness to target the American occupation forces if they did not withdraw within the specified deadline.
The commission said in a statement today, "We are closely monitoring the extent of commitment to the outcomes of the so-called round of strategic dialogue, in which we did not believe in the seriousness of the occupation and its commitment as a party to it. Manifestations of withdrawal, even though we are only 42 days away from the date.”
The commission added, "The resistance weapon will be present to dismember the occupation as soon as the moment comes and the deadline ends," stressing that the compass of this weapon was, is, and will remain directed towards the heads of the occupiers, whoever they are.
It is noteworthy that the spokesman for the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Major General Yahya Rasoul, confirmed earlier that the forces assigned to combat missions have begun to withdraw from Iraq, and there is a continuous effort to complete the withdrawal process by the end of the year.
