Launched by the Rotary Club of France, the “Rosiers pour une beehive” operation aims to raise funds to buy beehives and repollinize the territory.

Biodiversity is in danger, the weakening of colonies of bees and pollinating insects continues to increase.

“Pollination is a fundamental process for the survival of ecosystems because it depends on the reproduction of nearly 90% of the world's wild flowering plants, as well as 75% of food crops and 35% of agricultural land at the scale of the world. planet.

Pollinators have an extinction rate which is now 100 to 1000 times higher than normal, ”say UN experts.

To preserve our environment, promote the greening and blooming of the territory, the 32,000 members of the Rotary Club of France have mobilized by launching, from November 20, the operation "Roses for a beehive", in partnership with the French rose grower Meilland. On this occasion, the charity called on the support of sailor Maud Fontenoy, former president of the Rotary Club of France of Val d'Europe (Seine et Marne) and currently ambassador to the Ministry of National Education and Youth for Sea Education and Sea Classes.

The sale of thousands of drift or perfumella roses, cultivated in zero phyto conditions (without pesticides or fungicides), will thus raise funds to the tune of € 400,000, with a view to the purchase of around 2,000 beehives but also of seeds, insect hotels, brush traps.

On May 20, on the occasion of the 5th year of World Bee Day, they will be offered to symbolic places all over France.
