Men's fashion: ready-to-wear and half-measures

We are talking about ready-to-wear for a garment bought ready-made, and tailor-made when it is made on demand. A name encompassing several practices: there is the large tailor-made handmade and on site, and the half-measure designed remotely in a workshop that allows more or less customization. The significant development of this market segment sometimes plays on the vagueness that reigns between retouched ready-to-wear and half-measures. The good ready-to-wear should normally be sold with a lot of advice and simple or more complex alterations. However, it is only about retouched ready-to-wear, not half-measures. For the latter, the garment is sewn for the customer, starting from the fabric and a pattern. It is an exclusive creation. A garment displayed on a hanger, even extensively retouched, cannot be qualified as such.

However, the ambiguity is based on a happy observation: listening and advice.
