The federal and state governments have decided on new corona measures for Germany. This restricts vacation and excursion opportunities, especially for those who have not been vaccinated.

The federal and state governments have decided on new corona measures for Germany.

This restricts vacation and excursion opportunities, especially for those who have not been vaccinated.

The number of corona cases in Germany is currently increasing rapidly, the 7-day incidence is 336.9 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants.

Therefore, at the Prime Minister's Conference (MPK) on Thursday (November 18), tightened corona measures in a wide variety of areas - from workplaces to restaurants - were decided.

When it comes to travel and day trips within Germany, new rules will have to be observed in the future.

Unvaccinated people in particular will find it difficult to plan their vacation in the coming weeks.

Nationwide 2G rule in Germany with a high hospitalization rate

Some federal states such as Bavaria, Berlin, Brandenburg, Saxony, Rhineland-Palatinate or Baden-Württemberg are already relying on the 2G rule * - now the other states should follow suit as soon as the

hospitalization rate in the respective state exceeds the threshold of 3

.

This means that at least three people per 100,000 inhabitants have been admitted to the hospital within the last 7 days.

Across Germany, the value is currently 5.3.

As soon as the threshold is exceeded,

access to leisure facilities, cultural events, sporting events, restaurants and hotels should only be allowed to vaccinated and convalescent people

. A longer vacation with overnight stays is then no longer possible for unvaccinated persons in the respective federal states. Day trips are also made more difficult, as visiting restaurants and leisure facilities also requires vaccination or recovery.

If the hospitalization rate in the countries

exceeds

the

threshold value of 6

, vaccinated and convalescent people must also present a negative test when visiting places with a high risk of infection.

These include in particular clubs, discos and bars, as stated in the decision.

Exceptions apply to people who cannot be vaccinated or for whom there is no vaccination recommendation.

3G rule planned for local and long-distance transport

Unvaccinated travelers who want to travel by bus and train will have to submit a test in the future.

The government is planning to

introduce the 3G rule in local public transport and in regional and long-distance trains

.

Anyone who has not been vaccinated or tested must then have proof of a negative corona rapid test with them - this must not be older than 24 hours when starting the journey.

In addition, the citizen tests are again offered free of charge.

The rule for public transport is to be checked “randomly”, as it is called.

However, there should be an exception for taxis and schoolchildren.
