Rottach-Egern - Rottach-Egern wants to include a ban on fireworks in the landscape protection area ordinance.

There is a roll call for New Year's Eve.

The Miesbach District Office is currently revising the Landscape Protection Area Ordinance.

This also applies to the municipality of Rottach-Egern, where it was discussed at the latest meeting of the municipal council.

The background to this is that a fireworks ban could be incorporated into the new version if all five valley communities so wish.

The neighboring community of Kreuth and Markt Schliersee have already submitted corresponding applications to the district office, said Mayor Christian Köck.

He also explained two exceptions where fireworks should not be avoided: at the sea festivals and on New Year's Eve.

Decision to refrain from fireworks

"The opportunity is good because the regulation is being revised," said Councilor Thomas Tomaschek from the Greens, who had submitted the application.

"Fireworks are no longer up to date."

The decision is initially about a signal to what extent the regulation should be revised, explained managing director Gerhard Hofmann.

The decision was unanimously in favor of including the fireworks ban.

Appeal for fireworks on New Year's Eve

In addition, Tegernseer Tal Tourismus GmbH (TTT) sent a notice in 2021 to the hosts of the Tegernsee Valley and the tourism service partners asking them not to use New Year's Eve fireworks.

The letter in the wording:

“As in the previous year, the municipalities and Tegernseer Tal Tourismus GmbH have spoken out in favor of calling on all citizens, but also our guests, to refrain from firing New Year's Eve rockets and firecrackers this year.

By doing without New Year's Eve fireworks and firecrackers, we want to do something good for our environment and the animals living in the wild, as well as all domestic animals and all animals that are kept on our farm.

In addition, we can avoid unnecessary fine dust and considerable noise pollution.

We are happy when as many people as possible comply with our request to voluntarily do without and thus welcome and celebrate the New Year 2022 in a sensible way.

Thank you for your support on behalf of humans and animals and our unique nature at Tegernsee that is worth preserving.

The mayors of the Tegernseer Valley and Christian Kausch, Managing Director of Tegernseer Tal Tourismus GmbH "
