Managua-Sana
The Republic of Nicaragua announced today its withdrawal from the Organization of American States in protest of its interference in its internal affairs.
The Associated Press quoted Nicaraguan Foreign Minister Denis Moncada as saying during a press conference that we sent an "official letter" to OAS Secretary-General Luis Almagro informing him of the organization's "repeated acts of interference" against Nicaragua.
The minister pointed out that the withdrawal came in response to the Organization of American States accusing the government of President Daniel Ortega of committing acts of repression and fraud during the elections that were held on the 7th of this month.
Moncada had recently confirmed that the Organization of American States is a tool of aggression and interference by the United States in the lives of Latin American countries.
It is noteworthy that Cuba and Venezuela also left the organization earlier.
