The hope was great at the Narrhallen in Mauern and Gammelsdorf to be able to start the crazy time this weekend.
But the proclamation and wine festival were canceled due to the corona.
Mauern / Gammelsdorf
- The Narrhalla Mauern had hoped, after the Corona break last year, to present a couple of princes again on Saturday, November 20, and thus to usher in the carnival season. But because of the corona situation, which is worsening every day, those responsible have decided to cancel the introduction ball planned for Saturday "with a heavy heart", as it says on the Facebook page. It also says: "We had long considered allowing the event to take place with the highest hygiene standards '2G plus', but we came to the decision that this effort is currently not compatible with the situation in our hospitals." Decision is "the only right choice".
The colleagues from Gammelsdorf also see no possibility of holding the planned wine festival on Friday, November 19: "Unfortunately, we have also decided to cancel the wine festival," said Narrhalla chairman Florian Götz when asked by FT.
"It's a shame because of all the effort and joy we had, but given the current situation in the hospitals, this is the right decision." In addition, according to Götz, the organizers are expecting "fewer visitors because of the recent change to 2G plus".
By the way: Everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.
How things will go on with Carnival 2022 remains uncertain.
"The carnival planning for spring 2022 is still going on as normal," says Florian Götz.
And the Narrhalla walls do not give up hope either: If the situation calms down, "we start the carnival season on January 5, 2022", they say.
