Princess Charlène of Monaco had long waited for a return from South Africa, where she was stuck because of health problems.

Now, however, the separation and treatment continue.

Monaco - Princess Charlène of Monaco, who recently returned from South Africa following health problems, is receiving medical treatment outside of the city-state.

In order to protect her privacy, she will not be treated in Monaco, said her husband, Prince Albert II, in an interview with “People” magazine.

As announced, she was unable to attend the celebrations for Monaco's national holiday on Friday.

On Instagram, however, the princess posted a waving, white and red flag of the principality in front of a sunny, cloudy sky.

During the celebrations, their children Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella held two sheets of paper with the messages “We miss you, Mommy” and “We love you, Mommy” in their hands.

Prince Albert II said in the “People” interview that he would visit Charlène with the two children, even if the time has not yet been determined and depends on recovery.

A few days ago the Prince's Palace had announced that the 43-year-old had to recover from a state of general exhaustion in a confidential place.

The Princess will be informed about the health recovery in the coming weeks before Christmas.

In the interview, her husband gave an insight into the state of health of the princess. A few days after her return, the family decided to seek medical help. She suffers from physical and emotional exhaustion, and she has to undergo clinical treatment for at least a few weeks in order to recover. In the first hours after her return, everything went well, but then it turned out that she was not doing well, said Albert.

The princess's long-term stay in South Africa had fueled speculation on social media about a possible separation of the couple.

"I will probably have to say this more often than not, but this has nothing to do with our relationship," Albert told People magazine.

The problems are of a different nature, which are otherwise a private matter.

"She was overwhelmed, she couldn't cope with official duties, life in general, and even family life."

In order to prevent further rumors, Prince Albert emphasized that it was not about corona or cancer, and neither was it about cosmetic surgery.

Charlène was stuck in her native South Africa for around six months.

Health problems had delayed her departure, and she had only returned to the principality just under two weeks ago.

She had actually traveled to the country on the southern tip of Africa to support the fight against rhino poaching.

A little later, she reported to the local media that an oral surgery performed before her trip had delayed her return to Europe.

When flying at high altitudes, she cannot compensate for the pressure in the ears.

She was treated in the hospital several times.

Charlène met Prince Albert II (63) Albert, who was 20 years her senior, in a swimming competition in 2000 after she had previously competed for South Africa's national team at the 2000 Olympic Games.
