Government and aided primary schools will announce the results of primary one self-allocated places next Monday (22nd).

The Education Bureau said today (19th) that 48,000 students applied for this year, and 22,800 were assigned such degrees. The success rate reached 47.6%, a slight increase of 1.6 percentage points from last year and higher than the previous year’s 44.5%.

Among the lucky ones who were allocated places, "hereditary students" accounted for 57%, which is similar to last year.

Affected by the epidemic, the Education Bureau continued to use last year's listing arrangement, so that parents who failed to arrive at school can call the school or go to the school website for inquiries.

According to the Education Bureau, 48,080 children have applied for self-allocated places in government and aided primary schools this year, and 22,892 children have been assigned such degrees. Among them, they are called "hereditary students," meaning that they have brothers or sisters attending the school or their parents. There are 13,048 people working in the school, accounting for 57%, which is the same as last year; the remaining 9,844 people are assigned according to the "scoring method".

The Education Bureau reminds all parents who have applied for self-allocated places for their children, next Monday (22nd) from 9 to 5, bring their parents' copies of the Primary One Admissions Application Form to the primary school they are applying for to check the application results.

In view of the impact of the epidemic, parents can also call the school or check the results of the application on the school's website.

Parents of children who have obtained self-allocated places must go through the registration procedures according to the arrangements of the relevant school during the school office hours of next Wednesday (24th) or next Thursday (25th). Parents who fail to go to the registration procedures must first Contact the school, otherwise it will be regarded as abandoning the degree theory.

According to the Primary One Admissions Co-ordination Method, all government and aided primary schools will reserve half of their places for later allocation in the central allocation stage.

In mid-January next year, the Education Bureau will notify applicants who have not been assigned their own places by letter. Those who intend to participate in the central allocation must go to the designated central allocation center to go through the school selection procedures on January 22 or 23.

If parents apply for a unified allocation for their children after the deadline, they must go through the relevant procedures at the Places Allocation Section of the Education Bureau. The Bureau will arrange additional primary one places for the applicants in June next year.
