Syrian singer Omar Souleyman, whose release announced Friday in southeastern Turkey had been postponed, was released overnight, the AFP photographer noted.
The star of the Syrian electro-pop, refugee in Turkey for several years and arrested Thursday, was released by the Turkish authorities at 10:30 p.m. local (19:30 GMT) said the photographer.

The singer was arrested Wednesday by the police in the prefecture of Sanliurfa, bordering Syria, for
"terrorist propaganda"
because of alleged links with the Kurdish organizations PKK / YPG. It was not immediately clear whether any charges were brought against him. However, Ankara considers the People's Protection Units (YPG), the main Kurdish militia in Syria, as an offshoot of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), classified as
"terrorist"
by Turkey, the European Union and the United States. .
Omar Souleyman, whose release had been announced Friday morning by his lawyer, was brought back at the end of the day to a detention center for migrants, in the Harran refugee camp about fifteen kilometers from the Syrian border.
As soon as he was released, he returned to his home in Karaköprü, a town near Urfa, where his family and around thirty relatives and admirers were waiting for him.
“I love Turkey. The Europeans have offered me asylum, but I love this country and I want to stay here, ”
he declared on arrival, reported the photographer.
The singer has acquired international notoriety by combining traditional Syrian and electronic music.
