The motto of Y Combinator (YC for close friends) is more pragmatic than that of its close neighbor, the prestigious Stanford.

Founded in 2005, a century after Standford, YC has kept its promises thanks to the flair of its founders, Paul Graham, Jessica Livingston, Robert Morris and Trevor Blackwell.
Names less cited in the press than those of Mark Zuckerberg or Elon Musk, but which have nevertheless counted as much in the short history of Silicon Valley.
In exchange for an investment of $ 125,000 and a three-month program during which entrepreneurs have access to seminars and interviews to start or improve their business, YC recovers 7% of the capital.
