Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Vershinin discussed with Muhannad Hadi, the regional coordinator of the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs for the crisis in Syria, developments in the situation in Syria and ways for humanitarian aid to reach those who deserve it.
The Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement that the two sides stressed during today's meeting the need to mobilize comprehensive international humanitarian assistance for all those in need throughout the country without politicization, discrimination and preconditions.
She noted that special attention was given to ensuring the full implementation of United Nations Security Council Resolution 2585, which provides, among other things, to the tasks of increasing humanitarian assistance to Syrians and implementing projects for the early restoration of civilian infrastructure in a manner that mitigates the repercussions of the spread of the Corona epidemic.
