(CNN Spanish) -
The Government of the City of Buenos Aires removed three policemen from their position and asked the justice to open an investigation after the confusing death of a 17-year-old in a case that his family describes as of "easy trigger" and that has opened a debate on the actions of the police, which was also joined by President Alberto Fernández.
Lucas González passed away this Thursday.
His last activity was soccer training on Wednesday morning at the Barracas Central club, in the south of the Capital.
After the practice, plainclothes policemen began to chase him and three other people.
In circumstances not yet established by the authorities, González was shot in the head and died 24 hours later.
His family demands justice.
The Government of the City of Buenos Aires asked the judicial authorities to investigate the case.
The Ministry of Security and Justice said that the police officers were touring the area of the Barracas Central club "in an unidentifiable car."
They observed that four young men were aboard a truck, intercepted them and asked for their identification, although the cause that motivated this police maneuver is unknown.
"The police did not identify themselves and the boys did not fire any shots"
The official report maintains that the driver of the truck where the youths were had accelerated to try to escape and, consequently, started a pursuit.
Finally, two agents from a neighborhood police station managed to stop the truck.
Inside, they found González shot in the head.
The young man was referred to a hospital, although he died 24 hours later.
"As soon as we became aware of the fact, we started the administrative summary, disarmed the troops, separated them from the operational function and made them available to Justice," said the Minister of Security and Justice of the City, Andrés D'Alessandro.
The affected police officers have not yet testified before the courts or made public statements about the events.
Lucas's mother was going to visit President Alberto Fernández this Thursday afternoon.
However, her son died a few hours before the meeting agreed at the Casa Rosada.
In this regard, Fernández sent him his condolences and posted a message on his Twitter account: "It is not possible that police officers who must be at the service of the security of Argentines, end the lives of the people they were supposed to protect."
The 17-year-old's wake will be this Friday and it is expected that marches will be held to support his family.
