Li Jiachao pointed out that the candidates have diverse political philosophies, backgrounds, and classes, which are in line with "balanced participation" and "widely representative", and that they all come from different political spectrums, which proves that the new electoral system "is not about getting the same color."

Individual disputes do not prevent entry into the election
Individual "non-establishment" candidates have made some controversial words and deeds in the past. Some have expressed support for the "city-state theory", some have displayed the slogan "Recover Hong Kong, the Revolution of the Times" on social media, and some have participated in the "Revolution of the Times". However, when Li Jiachao was asked about the situation at the press conference, he simply responded that he had made "comprehensive considerations" on factors such as the time of the incident, the environment at the time, and whether the applicable law had a retrospective period, and emphasized that each case has unique facts. As far as society is concerned, the boundaries and qualification criteria under the new system and the new normal are particularly important. If the authorities fail to explain clearly, some capable and ambitious people may be deterred, and the result is naturally not conducive to the selection of talents.
Regardless of the criteria and results of the candidate qualification review, this general election of the Legislative Council has been able to confirm that "non-establishment" members will still be allowed to stand for election and for the first time there will be competition in all sectors.
