Ukraine: Orders to Use Weapons Against Migrants

Ukraine has announced that it will allow the army and security forces to open fire on migrants if they approach its borders, according to a multi-level military tactic.

According to TASS, the Minister of the Interior of Ukraine Denis Monastirsky told the Verkhovna Rada today that we will use multi-level tactics to protect the borders. At the first level, the elements will be without weapons only with protective equipment. In the event of aggressive actions by border violators, the elements of the second level will be allowed to use weapons and special means.

He pointed out that 15 helicopters belonging to the Ministry of the Interior, as well as two warplanes and 44 drones are in service on the border with Belarus, adding that we have conducted an exercise of the command center and within two weeks a field training will be conducted in order to develop specific scenarios at the border to face the potentially huge influx of migrants.

The crisis of thousands of migrants who have been on the border between Belarus and Poland has worsened for some time, which insists on preventing them from crossing its lands towards European countries and uses the army and security to do so, amid the deterioration of their conditions in light of very low temperatures that have reached the freezing point.
