Elements of the Directorate of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection in Damascus organized supply seizures against a number of meat shops in the Zabaltani market, a bakery in Barzeh, and an importer of ghee in a violating manner.
The Director of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection in Damascus, Muhammad Fawzi Saad, indicated that the directorate’s agents seized broiler meat unfit for human consumption in shops in the meat market in Zabaltani, along with foul-smelling chicken broth prepared for sale in nylon bags of different capacities and other quantities placed in cages lying on the ground and an unrefrigerated and loaded car. For transporting a quantity of 670 kg of broiler prepared for tenderness and bone of Mentor broiler with an unpleasant odor, unfit for human consumption.
Saad indicated that the aforementioned quantities were seized and destroyed immediately in the presence of their holders, and the violators were referred to the competent judiciary.
A seizure was also organized against an importer for violating the disposal of the goods “imported animal ghee” before the issuance of a price instrument for it by the Ministry of Trade, and the said person was referred to the judiciary, in addition to a violation of a seller for collecting electronic cards and trading in subsidized bread.
The officers dealt with the Barzeh Al-Hadith bakery with a violation of underweight, and a shop with a violation of selling at an excessive price for municipal cheese in the Mazraa area.
