The violence against the medical staff continues: A

60-year-old patient arrived at the United Clinic in Rishon Lezion today (Friday) without a turn and attacked the nursing staff after not receiving her request.

The patient started raging, threw a bottle at a nurse who was trying to help her, poured disinfectant on her, hit another nurse in the chest and hit another nurse as well.

A security guard who was present at the scene managed to take over the patient until police arrived and evacuated her from the scene.

The team arrived at the police station and filed a complaint against the patient.

A United Health Fund said: "United management condemns any manifestation of violence against medical staff and sends best wishes for a speedy recovery to staff injured during the incident."

In another case this week, patients in the closed ward at Lev Hasharon Hospital attacked a nurse in a treatment room, bit and kicked her, and even tore hair and skin from her head. The nurse was evacuated for medical treatment at the hospital, suffering from bodily and mental injuries. Detained for questioning on suspicion of threatening the life of a doctor at Soroka Hospital and raging in the corona ward.

Data from the Ministry of Health on cases of violence in government hospitals show that by 2021, by the end of October, there were 4,631 riots in hospitals - about 15 incidents a day.

In 2020, 5,300 events occurred.

252 of the cases in 2021 included physical violence, 115 incidents of threats and 121 cases of verbal violence or damage to property, and a total of 488 incidents.

In 2020 there were 306 incidents of physical violence, 128 threats and 225 cases of verbal violence or property damage, and a total of 659 violent incidents.
