Winterrieden - On Thursday (November 18th, 2021) around 2:25 p.m., a hay and straw store on an agricultural property with a connected local heating supply system caught fire.
A short time later, the fire spread to the immediately adjacent cowshed and a machine hall.
A spread of the flames to the adjacent houses and the biogas plant / wood chip plant could be prevented by the rapid intervention of the fire brigades.
The hay and straw store was completely destroyed in the fire and the cowshed and the machine hall were badly damaged.
Fortunately, no one was harmed by the fire.
However, some cattle fell victim to the fire in the cowshed.
The property damage is currently estimated at at least one million euros.
