The defendant claimed that he did not pay much attention to current affairs, including the political environment in China and the political relationship between Hong Kong and Taiwan. He only thought about making money and his family in his mind, especially when he was busy preparing for travel.
He knows about the social movements in Hong Kong in 2019. There were demonstrations and violent incidents.
He did not understand this, but believed that the protest should go to the city hall and the square, and he did not understand why the situation was chaotic.
The lawyer asked him if he was disgusted with and hated the demonstration, but the defendant only said that he thought that the road should not be blocked.

The defendant Chen Zhen was charged with 3 counts of intentional wounding and 1 count of ordinary assault.
The charge alleged that he illegally and maliciously harmed Wen Hao Lun, Leung Pik Ki and Zhao Jiaxian outside Cityplaza Center on November 3, 2019, and assaulted Liang Yingying on the same day.
Among them, Wen Haolun and Liang Biqi are the couple, and Liang Yingying is Liang Biqi's cousin.
