The corona situation is getting worse.

Bavaria's Prime Minister therefore advocates compulsory vaccination - unlike Health Minister Jens Spahn.

Munich - Bavaria's Prime Minister Markus Söder pleads for a general vaccination requirement.

"I believe that in the end we will not be able to avoid a general compulsory vaccination." The CSU boss said on Friday at a press conference in Munich: "Otherwise we will end up in an endless loop with this crap corona."

Söder tightens corona rules - and pleads for compulsory vaccination

The corona rules in Bavaria are to be massively tightened next Tuesday in order to break the current corona wave.

But "this is not a long-term solution", said Söder and expressed doubts whether a partial vaccination requirement for individual professional groups is really sufficient and "may be the only solution for next year."

Söder still hopes that the federal government will introduce compulsory vaccinations for certain professional groups.

If the federal government did not do that, the federal states would have to think about what to do.

Söder is for it - Spahn skeptical about mandatory vaccinations

It was precisely on this topic that Federal Health Minister Jens Spahn spoke on Friday before Markus Söder's press conference.

With a view to the demands of the federal states for compulsory vaccination for certain professional groups, the CDU politician had declared that he was skeptical about such compulsory vaccination, but would not ignore demands for it.

Vaccination rate too low - Ethics Council does not rule out compulsory vaccination

Theoretically, all residents of Bavaria could have been vaccinated from the age of twelve in October.

But in Bavaria the vaccination rate is very low: There is a gap of 4.6 million people who have not been vaccinated, Söder continues.

The incidence in the unvaccinated is 1500, in the vaccinated only 110.

The Bavarian Ethics Council does not consider a general vaccination obligation to be excluded.

If there is still not enough vaccination in six months, "we have to face this debate again fundamentally," said Söder.
