Job loss, short-time work, mental illness: Corona has worsened the social situation in the district.

The FT donation campaign “People in Need” wants to help.

District

- The loss of a job, a serious illness, violent crime: fate often strikes relentlessly - and without warning.

In addition, numerous people in the Freising district are also suffering from a loss of income as a result of the pandemic - and at the same time everything is becoming extremely expensive.

It has therefore pulled the floor from under many of them: It is our neighbors who now need our help.

The “People in Need” fundraising campaign, which is helping rural district residents, is therefore more important than ever.

As of today, the Freisinger Tagblatt and the association "Menschen in Not" eV are again asking readers for donations.

People with their backs to the wall

Against the background of the corona pandemic, the situation for many in the district has now deteriorated dramatically.

They lost their jobs, had to work short-time for a long time - or got sick themselves.

Well more than 10,000 people have already been infected with the corona virus - and many of them became seriously ill.

In addition, the ongoing crisis also affects people emotionally.

(By the way: Everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

"Many people have been going through severe psychological crises for a long time," reports Beate Drobniak from the Diakonisches Werk Freising.

Advice centers are overloaded and financial aid is usually exhausted.

Other charitable institutions and self-help groups also report that many people have their backs to the wall - mentally, but also materially.

Unbureaucratic support in difficult winter

With the donations from its readers, the Tagblatt would like to provide unbureaucratic support in this difficult winter, where particular emergencies have arisen.

The local newspaper reports on authentic, but anonymized case studies, why it is so important to help with a donation now.

The money is first collected in the well-known account 190 at the Sparkasse and then comes directly to those affected via around two dozen charitable institutions, associations or self-help groups without a single euro deduction.

Why is it so important to help?

An example from the Freising district: The father of three children is terminally ill.

The tumor has already spread.

Therapies, too, can only stop growth for a short time.

Until his death, he and his family are lovingly cared for by the hospice association, so that the seriously ill can ultimately die at home - which would not be possible without donations.

Every euro stays in the Freising district

The warming room, Caritas, the BRK and numerous other institutions and offers of help also report similar emergencies.

The St. Klara children's home in Freising, institutions for helping people, self-help groups and neighborhood helpers also need urgent support.

One and a half years ago, the Freisinger Tagblatt founded the association “Menschen in Not”, the purpose of which is the voluntary handling of the fundraising campaign - a stable basis.

Those who donate can be sure: Every euro stays in the Freising district and benefits people who really need the money.

These are difficult times.

Help us survive them!

Example cases:

- An 85-year-old woman still lives at home in her small apartment. The elderly woman is severely handicapped by lymphedema and spinal damage. She also has to go on dialysis three times a week. The AWO supports them in this. However, the long-term care insurance does not pay for such important help as helping with getting dressed or showering. The Arbeiterwohlfahrt denies this with donations from the “People in Need” campaign. An unbureaucratic help for a brave person at the end of his life!

- A supermarket employee is brutally attacked by a customer at her workplace. When she can make an emergency call, she already has three serious stab wounds. She has to go to the hospital for a long time and the emotional wounds are healing even more slowly. The White Ring looks after them on their long way back to normality (and to their workplace) - thanks to donations from the Tagblatt readers.

- A couple got into financial hardship through no fault of their own.

Both work in the low-wage sector and had to work short-time for a long time due to the corona.

During this phase there were high ancillary costs and additional electricity demands.

The children had to pay co-payments to the orthodontist, and eventually the family's car broke.

Even after exploring all government aid options, there were still residues.

The child protection association is now helping the family - thanks to donations from the FT campaign.
