An earthquake measuring 4 on the Richter scale hit the Tokat province in northern Turkey today.

The Anatolia News Agency, a spokeswoman for the Turkish regime, quoted the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority as saying in a statement that the epicenter of the quake was at a depth of 12.37 km from the surface of the earth, while there were no immediate reports of casualties or material losses as a result of the quake.

An earthquake measuring 5.1 on the Richter scale hit Erzurum province in eastern Turkey yesterday.

Turkey is among the most seismically active regions in the world, as it is located on many active fault lines and witnesses many earthquakes and earthquakes continuously.
