China today launched a new satellite from the Taiyuan Center in the northern Shanxi Province.
According to Xinhua, the Gaofen 0311 satellite was launched by a Long March 4B rocket and entered the planned orbit successfully.
The new satellite, developed by the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation, is used to conduct ground surveys, plan cities, assert land rights, design road networks, estimate agricultural crops, and prevent and mitigate disasters.
