Justice Minister Gideon Saar may postpone the hearing in the Judicial Appointments Committee, which is due to take place this coming Tuesday, after at this stage it does not appear that the committee members are able to reach agreements regarding the identities of the four new Supreme Court justices.
In order to elect a Supreme Court judge, he must win the support of seven of the nine members of the committee, so this requires agreements between its members.
Usually the conservative and activist camp agrees on candidates who are not in the red sheet in exchange for the consent of the other camp in their own candidates.

Committee members Minister Gideon Saar, Interior Minister Ayelet Shaked and MK Simcha Rotman are expected to support conservative judges identified with the right, while Saar himself will seek to support socially liberal judges.
The judging panel prefers Yigal Marzel, Ruth Ronen and Khaled Kabov, all red sheets for the right.
Of the three, Kaboub is more likely to compromise, as he occupies the slot of the Arab judge after the retirement of retired judge George Kara.
The Bar Association is pushing for the election of at least one lawyer.
