In Jachenau, a charging station for electric cars is to be built below the village shop.

In order to implement this project, an unexpected change has now been announced in the municipal council.

Update from November 20th:

Jachenau

- There is a twist when it comes to e-charging stations in Jachenau.

As Mayor Klaus Rauchberger reported in the latest municipal council meeting, a Landsberg entrepreneur from the electronics industry has now reported that he wants to set up the car charging station at his own expense and then operate it himself.

As reported, various variants have been discussed in the past few weeks.

The initiative for the charging station originally came from the company "17er Oberlandenergie".

Then it was said: In order for the construction costs of around 10,000 euros to flow state funding of 80 percent, the municipality must build the charging station itself.

In this case, "Oberlandenergie" would have paid rent as the operator.

Now the community would like to examine the offer from Landsberg and invite the entrepreneur to talk.

The only thing that remained unchanged was the planned location in front of the village shop.

The original report from October 10th:

Jachenau

- Anyone driving through the Sonnental in an electric car shouldn't run out of juice.

For this reason, a charging station is to be located below the village shop in the future.

But the implementation of this project is not going quite as planned.

As reported, the initiative to set up the charging station came from the company “17er Oberlandenergie”.

Originally, they wanted to build and operate the charging station themselves; the municipality should only name one location.

Now, however, Mayor Klaus Rauchberger reported at the meeting of the municipal council: “The '17er Oberlandenergie' received a letter of rejection on their application for funding Build a pillar and apply for funding.

Local councils wonder about the approach

Now the company has suggested that the municipality should implement the project.

So that she does not have to sit on the costs, it is planned that the "17er Oberlandenergie" pays rent for the charging station.

Ultimately, it is about an amount of 2000 euros plus the costs for a power connection that have not yet been determined.

City councilor Josef Oswald was surprised: “Didn't they know that beforehand?

It won't be the first charging station they are building. ”Georg Kohlhauf wanted to know who was building charging stations in other communities.

From the perspective of Georg Riesch jun.

But there is basically no getting around this infrastructure.

"It is everywhere now, it will come with us too."

First of all, the municipality wants to clarify the exact costs

Mayor Rauchberger suggested clarifying how expensive the electricity connection would be and how the refinancing via a rental would be done before making a decision.

He would also like to know whether such a column can be used to charge e-bikes.

"Because we have more of them in Jachenau than e-cars - even if there are more and more."
