Erding - “Lockdown Kreativ” is the name of the exhibition that can be seen in the Erding Adult Education Center.

For many of Elisabeth Lex's painting students, the online course was also an emotional support.

The artist Elisabeth Lex, who gives painting courses for watercolor and mixed media at the adult education center (VHS) Erding and also in Freising, did not let the corona pandemic get her down and without further ado offered her painting courses online.

Now the works can be seen in the VHS.

“The past year has shown how the joy of painting and being creative can carry you through difficult times,” says Lex. This is also proven by the joint painting at the ARTWorkshop online.

“After all, drawing, color and shapes are closely connected, and the participants felt just as connected despite the physical distance,” says Lex. They were creative at home.

Many also looked for the way outside, into nature.

In the process, according to Lex, an enthusiasm for "the diversity of landscape painting" almost inevitably developed, which also became a topic for alienation, different techniques and personal preferences.

Course participant Martha Herzig expresses the importance of being able to be creative in times of lockdown: “For me, the tasks and the creativity associated with them are the most important support in this crisis.” Now the work is under the motto “lockdown creative ”in the VHS.

The exhibits do not explicitly address the pandemic, but some works still tell of the effects on people.

Gertrud Angermeier (flute) and Maria Maier (piano) created the musical opening of the exhibition.

The picture show can be seen until January 31, Monday to Thursday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and on Fridays from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the VHS building, Lethnerstraße 13.

The current corona rules apply.
