All flights scheduled for Saturday to the Spanish island of La Palma have been canceled due to ash from the Cumbre Vieja volcano, which has erupted for two months, the airport manager announced.
A total of twenty domestic flights were canceled on Saturday, said a spokesperson for the manager of Spanish airports (Aena).
Air links with this island in the Spanish Canary Islands, located off the coast of Morocco, have been regularly affected since the volcano erupted on September 19, for the first time in 50 years.
The eruption on this small Atlantic island of 85,000 inhabitants caused no casualties, but caused serious damage and caused the evacuation of more than 7,000 people, some of whom lost everything under the lava flows.

In total, more than 1,000 hectares and more than 2,600 buildings were devastated, according to the European system of geospatial measurements, Copernicus.

Visiting Friday and Saturday, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez announced new aid for the economy and infrastructure of the island, which depends in particular on tourism and banana cultivation.
The island of La Palma is currently experiencing its third eruption in a century, after those of the San Juan volcano in 1949 and Teneguia in 1971.
