Oberschleißheim
- Walter Hölzl from Oberschleißheim, together with Joachim Jauer, received the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany. “Today we are honoring two personalities who have made a very special contribution to the field of media. The order is a symbolic thank you for your decades of commitment in your profession and honorary office, for your creativity and the tireless commitment to reliable information for the citizens ”, praised Florian Herrmann, Head of the State Chancellery and Minister of State for Federal Affairs and Media.
Hölzl, according to a press release from the State Chancellery, received the Cross of Merit for his services to the media. He has been with Bavaria Film GmbH since 1987 and took over training for media professions in 1997. As head of the training and further education department and as chairman of the works council of Bavaria Film, he has been instrumental in establishing regular training for media professions since that time. From 1997 to 2009 Hölzl worked as a trainer at the Nuremberg Chamber of Commerce. Since 2014 he has been an auditor in the field of media design at the Chamber of Commerce for Munich and Upper Bavaria. About 20 years ago he was a co-inventor and designer of the professional profile “media designer in image and sound”. In 1990 Hölzl launched the media education project “The film classroom”.In this project, schoolchildren produce a short film when they visit Bavaria Film. In doing so, he paved a way that teaches many children how to deal with the media and shows how powerful the media can be. This is particularly important in times of digital change.
