Gate 6 on Alte Brucker Straße used to be a so-called crash gate for the air base fire brigade to exit in the event of emergencies and accidents.

But then it became the decisive detail in the Maisach fight against the civil aviators: The community blocked the path and thus the access to the site so that the civil aviators had to stay outside.

In the end, Maisach won the court.

In 2010, representatives of the citizens' initiative against aircraft noise at Gate 6 celebrated the deedication of the Fürstenfeldbruck military airfield.

Mayor Hans Seidl (CSU) had already voiced the idea of a memorial site in 2013.

Now it's getting concrete.

On around 70 square meters at Gate 6, the topics of nature conservation, aviation and community development are to be brought to life with an entrance gate made of granite wall panels, information boards on the flora, fauna and history of the airfield, a play device in the form of an airplane and a nature observation tower, such as the one in Kottgeisering.

150,000 euros were planned for this in the 2022 budget.

Maisach wants to buy an airplane play device like this one in Unterhaching.

It is suitable for three to twelve year olds.

The original idea was to put an old military aircraft at Gate 6.

But the "peaceful variant" was more appealing.

The names of those who have made a name for themselves in the fight against civil aviators are also to be immortalized, for example in the BI.

Gottfried Obermair (FW) said that should be done on information boards and not at the granite entrance gate.

"It would look like a tombstone."
