Bad Wiessee - The first residents were recently able to move into the new apartment buildings at Dr.-Scheid-Strasse 7 and 7a in Bad Wiessee.

Despite the corona pandemic, the schedule could almost be adhered to during the entire construction period: the two newly built community halls at Dr.-Scheid-Strasse 7 and 7a were ready for occupancy in mid-November.

It is the third project of the municipal company founded a few years ago in the Bad Wiessee community.

This was preceded by the construction of the multi-generation house, also on Dr.-Scheid-Strasse, and the renovation of two apartment buildings on Söllbachtalstrasse.

Around 5.9 million euros in costs

At the symbolic handover of the keys, Mayor Robert Kühn presented the first tenants with a heavy bunch of keys.

"We are very proud," he said, referring to the project and the fact that the houses can be moved almost according to plan despite the difficult location: "Where others are still planning, we have already completed our third project."

The costs are also kept within reasonable limits: the KU has invested around 5.9 million euros in the construction.

The result is 16 barrier-free apartments with a good 1,200 square meters of living space - four of which are two-room apartments and six units each with three or four rooms.

It is heated with a pellet system

Each apartment has either a terrace or a balcony.

It also includes a lift, an underground car park with 19 parking spaces and a bicycle cellar.

Outside there is a common green area for residents with benches, fruit trees and bushes.

In addition, play equipment for children is to be set up on the west side of the property.

A pellet system is used for heating.

“The construction work went smoothly,” said architect Daniel Pförtsch, emphasizing the positive cooperation with the community, which has shown itself to be a committed client.

Over 100 applications

In view of the tense housing market in the Tegernsee Valley and the region, there was strong demand for the offer.

The KU has received over 100 applications for one of the apartments, said Dagmar Milbrandt, who is responsible for property management.

Not least in view of the rush, you had to create a catalog of criteria for the selection, explained KU boss Thomas Lange.

So you have taken into account how long a prospect has been living in the village or in the valley.

Of course, the level of income or the ratio of the size of the apartment to the number of future residents would also have played an important role.

The relationship between demand and inventory will probably not be able to be brought into balance in the long term either - despite efforts to create new apartments.

Nevertheless, Bad Wiessee is comparatively well positioned with 186 community-owned apartments.

The most important concern is to enable not only high earners, but also people from the middle class to live in the locality.

Also for people with handicaps

For the future residents of the two houses on Dr.-Scheid-Straße, value was placed on a good selection, a good mix, explained those in charge.

In particular, young families with children and older, single people have found a new home, including people with disabilities.

13 parties had already lived in the village before, three more had moved from other valley communities.

“We're not standing still, we want to do even more,” assured Kühn, because the next projects are already on the agenda: First, the two apartment buildings on Hagngasse are to be demolished and replaced by new buildings with more living space by 2024.

In addition, the redevelopment of the Ringbergsiedlung is due.

It is the oldest object in the inventory.
