Maisach does not want to expand the industrial areas for the time being.

Instead, the concrete slab on the airfield is to be used for new companies to settle there.

But there are back doors when it comes to self-commitment.

Maisach / Fürstenfeldbruck -

As part of its most recent retreat, the local council dealt with the commercial development strategy applied for by town hall chief Hans Seidl (CSU).

Against a vote, the plans passed the committee.

It was decided not to expand the large areas on Frauenstrasse and Ganghoferstrasse, or only if companies already located there needed more space.

New designations in the commercial area on August-Rasch-Straße will not be discussed until 2026.

Nevertheless, the possibility should remain of creating new jobs in Maisach.

There are always inquiries in the town hall.

Companies interested in the location are to be referred to areas that are already sealed in the future.

The largest such area is on the air base: it is a concrete slab in the southern area of the military area that does not belong to the FFH area.

A total of 37 hectares are said to belong to the municipality.

Contact Bruck

Hartmut Hombach (Greens) asked how to proceed. Mayor Seidl said they would come to an understanding with the city administration and the city council of Fürstenfeldbruck. The aim is for the local council of Maisach and the city council of Fürstenfeldbruck to set up criteria for how the area could be developed.

Alfred Hirsch (FW), the new Third Mayor, also saw the disadvantages of the new strategy: "We have free space on Frauenstrasse, which is available," he said.

If an attractive company in the town hall now expresses its interest in building on Frauenstrasse, “this path is blocked for us”.

Seidl replied that one should act in a way that conserves the soil, especially along Frauenstrasse and Ganghoferstrasse - to reduce land consumption and sealing as well as to protect agricultural land.

Therefore, he wants to "create a basic line and adhere to it with credibility".

However, there is a little back door that tries to meet expansion requests from local businesses in Maisach as a rule.

And for such cases, an exception is clearly laid down in the municipal council resolution.

But there is still another back door open.

Seidl said that focusing on the floor slab could be abandoned "if the development of the south of the airport takes too long".
