MM-Dickenreishausen - With a planting campaign of 1,200 trees, the Buzil company is supporting the reforestation of the community forest near Dickenreishausen.
Under the guidance of the employees of the municipal forest office, 24 Buzil employees planted four different types of trees: service berries, linden trees, wild pears and beeches.
"In the course of the next few years, the spruce forests will be mixed with other tree species in order to become more climate-proof," explains forestry office manager Stefan Honold the selection of tree varieties.
"The four selected tree species are not only more robust in terms of changes due to climate change, but are also an important source of food for insects."
Beeches planted separately
The new trees were planted one and a half meters apart and two meters between the rows. One area was laid out with service berries and wild pears, another with service berries and linden trees. The beeches were planted in a separate part. All newly planted trees were protected by fences or protective tree covers against browsing by hungry game. "The way to a varied mixed forest of deciduous and coniferous wood is essential," emphasizes Honold.
